Review of El Cajon, California

El Cajon Weather
Star Rating - 7/19/2009
I have lived here in El Cajon for the past five years and I would say that the averages are inaccurate or at least it seems that way in the past five years I could probably count the number of times it has rained on my ten fingers. We are in a serious drought right now to the point people can only water thier lawns during certain times and on certain days. It is very hot here July-Oct with it getting to above 100 around mid July there is alot of sun but sometimes its so hot you cant go outside to enjoy it. Most houses here have swimming pools for that reason. The cost of living here is considerably less than in San Diego city and it is just ten minutes away from there if you move here make sure you have an air conditioner in your apartment or house. The rest of the year the weather is pretty mild although the nights can be a bit cool.

I'd say your comment is 100% true & accurate. Ive lived here since around Jan of 2002 & SD County almost my entire life. Except for this tear 2019 summers are brutal. Very hot well over 90 degrees & many over 100 degrees with bad humidity. I have cancer so this cooler than normal year so far has been a blessing.thank you

Sounds about right. I am a retiree who has lived in this County all my life. With a decent income I find it difficult to live any quality of life here. Taxes - infrastructure- etc etc etc. I will be selling and moving next year to a state where I can spend half the amount for a nicer condo and taxes won’t eat me up. My local senior family have all passed. Moving where my siblings have lived with quality for years. It may be a little humid there but weather has gotten too hot and miserable here. I loved El Cajon for many years - sad what has happened to California over the years!!!!!
